Some members of the public have expressed concern over the recklessness of commercial motor operators popularly known as"Okada".These cyclists now operate mostly around the Mallam-Kasoa road at the peak hours of the mornigs.
The concern of the public stems from the fact that, these Okada operators forget the fact that, walkways are meant for pedestrians.
Interviewing some section of students from Jayee University College, they disclosed that, the way these cyclists operate is very life threatening and take students very long time to cross to campus.
Speaking to one miss Raissa Sambou, she said, but for the timely intervention of adriver's mate she would have ended up a victim of the recklessness of a motor cyclist.
They are therefore calling on those in charge to rectify the situation.
Good show. Those in authority should not think they can perform wonders overnight. The Okada business has come to stay and not even 10 million police officers can stop them. When jobs are created for them to do, that's when they would forgo their operations.
ReplyDeleteI strongly agree with u, but i also think those in authority should take these Okada operators through intensive training in their daily operations. This will enable them operate well, since it serves as a source of livelihood for them.In a way,i think it cuts down the unemployment rate in the country.
